PNWRR's Mission:
To rescue reptiles, revive them to full health and place them in new loving and wonderful homes!
"To give a voice to those that have none!"
So here is a little about the rescue.:
Pacific Northwest Reptile Rescue is a little organization I dreamed up one day while visiting my good friend Veronica in Salem. I always knew there was a need for places such as ours I just never thought about running one myself. Veronica (Roni) runs Beatiful Dragons and gave me the inspiration! (Please visit her page too Beautiful Dragons) So here we are, a rescue run strictly out of our home, some foster homes and our own pockets. Since starting the "little" rescue we thought wouldn't be a big thing, we have placed MANY reptiles and have some amazing stories to tell, to read them please check out the success page and it's links, as well as the rainbow bridge page for those sad ending stories. So if you feel the need to help the reptile world/community please take a look at our donations page! :)
And here is a little about us:
I have loved animals my whole life. And when I met Brian (my husband now) in November of 2000, I knew that he loved them too. We started dating in June of 01, and we got married August 16th of 03. Since we began dating we have aquired many animals. We have filled our house with more than enough of them!
How we met our CLOSE friend Veronice:
When Brian and I decided to get married, we figured we should get rid of a few animals to keep our costs down. I decided to sacrifice my Bearded Dragons so that we could keep the snakes and cats. In doing so, I put an ad up for them on a local advertising site. I got an email from a very nice lady, letting me know that she ran a Dragon Rescue and that she would be willing to give them a great home if I couldn't sell them. I normally wouldn't respond to those types of emails, especially because I was irritated at the time with having to get rid of them and having no offers on them other than this email. But I put my issues aside and emailed her back because she simply put "God Bless" on the end of her email. Being a Christian I thought; "Hmmm maybe I should at least tell her thank you!". I did and there sprung our friendship!
(By the way... we talked to Roni for so long that we ended up keeping our beardies until 2005 when they went to a friend's home)
Roni, Brian and I are now a close knit friendship and I know it is going to last FOREVER!!
A friendship from far away is harder than others, but with her, it is SO worth it! :)
