GED
(tennessee anemone)
compensation for contemplations of
condensation,
lightning and tears on the moon,
white as christmas
lit bright as venus in august,
but the rain dissipated a phantom amongst
ghosts, ghouls
bearing gifts yellow-wrapped
and shining like jewels; the crack-
pipe lit bright as venus
in august, like semis on I-40 highways,
gone in the wind… A blur
o! come spring in Tennessee
o! glorious spring; gorgeous, the swans
floating within the season of freedom
beholding love’s knowledge in all its’
subtle meaning - venus (but a spot
in the background playyard
a’gleaming like subtle woe)
is well beyond the janus of demeaning;
the flower of the wind:
Anemone
i love this city
but shall we drop
our historied tragedies, off
with the masks - been done
is the lesson-sermon of grade school…
thank YHWH
for my GED is what i do, and
for the gift
of poetry through-and-true
