Wisdoms
(verse 2)
- Poetry is your most inner thoughts, only
better worded.
Beer is your necessary medicine, only better
tasting.
Liquor is your double dose, only more expensive;
and even more potent if 100 proof.
- Why be this, why be that?, when you can settle
for a healthy dose of both. Ah -- versatility
strikes back; the best of both worlds (possibly
in triplicate).
- Versatility: the great stunner of a closed-
minded society.
- Who but a Black man has stood the test of time
when “Nigger” became the profanities of pro-
fanities ‘til to this very day we call it the everso
popular “N-word”. What sweet pleasure has
an old Negro and sweet treats to boot. Stop the
ignorance -- Stop hating.
- In the force of opposition: a week man will bend,
a strong one will use opposition as a means of
overcoming the oppressor. A complacent one
will watch the world pass him up.
- Sunshine: a sweet treat for temptation teasing; a simple indulgence for
any season; the song of inner warmth: simply pleasing as is
rain.
- Jazz is like poetry is like humanity -- the horse of
many colours from the Wizard of Oz: at times clever
(provocative improvisation) and at other times:
dropping piles of doo (inane stinky).
