Poem Of The Moment (Kimberly D. Robinson)

Kimberly D. Robinson - a 43 year-old African-American of the Philadelphia, PA area - shares with us a stunning collection of poetry entitled "Saxophone Love". The self-described "mixed bag of talent" was first introduced to poetry at age eleven and has continued writing throughout the years with brief periods of hiatus.

"My early pieces (composed of poetry, plays sketches and paintings) were destroyed in an apartment complex fire," says the multi-faceted artiste. Definitely a loss for the artistic world, but the incident most likely inspired another depth to Ms. Robinson's work.

Asked about other artistic endeavors, a very eager Kim says, "I paint, draw, do calligraphy & etchings... [One day] I plan to create a piece of art to compliment all my poetry writings."

With a sly look in her eye and coyness on her mind, Kim makes the interviewer smile the infamous million-dollar smile, "I am getting back into playing the piano [as well]. Sure I sing... In the car and the shower." Don't we all?

Kim brings to the table a wealth of educational experience, with a BS in Geology, Astronomy & Physics, as well as a BS in Geoscience Secondary Education, an MS in Science Education, an MS in Educational Leadership, and a PhD in Urban Education. "Eventually I would like to write, illustrate, and publish African-American children's books about the fascinating world of Science," declares Kim. And with such an arsenal of education backing up the desire, I believe it's highly accomplishable.

All science aside though, I sure am pleased to showcase Kim's stunning series of poetry called "Saxophone Love" which includes parts V, VI, VII & VIII. Please do enjoy her artistry!

Saxophone Love V

His mouth fills up with thoughts of me
reminiscing as if my thighs were joined with jazz
till he belts an oh so long
smooth sound from his saxophone.

He blows down the ride of my breasts
up the arch of my spine
into the crest of my thighs.

When the song is over
he licks his lips oh so sweetly
to get a second wind...
to play me again.

Saxophone Love VI

His rhythm, reminiscent
of a Jamaican jazz serenade
paralyzes me.

I cannot resist his melody
No!  I don't want to stop.

He pushes his brass horn in my ___ face
releasing sweet sensual notes
at a time.

I can't help being captivated
till I scream, till I chime.

This cannot be the last song
I wanted him to play another melody…

…harder
 .… faster
….stronger.

I want to feast on his brass
all night long
till I'm covered ___with his Jazz
yeah.

Saxophone Love VII

Moistened my lips to reciprocate his melody
took his brass horn in my hands
and began to____ blow ____ gently
till he no longer could resist my invitation to
compose a duet ___ privately.

We waxed and waned like the painted moon,
we ebbed and flowed with exquisite
harmony like the tides of the Nile
till his precious jazz replenished my bayou
one note at a time.

Saxophone Love VIII

Opened my window,
sounds of the night float in
a misty cool zephyr
arousing my peanut butter skin.

A silhouette
my beautiful Moroccan man
divinely reclining,
fingers gently caressing his
ebony brass sax.

Mouth moistens delicate tones
blowing sweet air with tremble
stroke every note of me.

I cannot resist.

I want more.

I taste every C-clef; the tenor
aged like my collection of fine wine
fermented from sweet Pinar del Rio vines,
pulls me up slowly
improvising jazz between my thighs.

Afterward, a misty cool zephyr
tickles my dampened peanut butter skin
as we lay in each other’s arms
listening to the sounds
of the night float in.
