For the month of February I am happy to present you with some photography by the very talented photographer Nora Geist. Her collection, entitled Saintly Cadavers is absolutely stunning in the audacity of its truth.

Also featured is the work of Ahmed Kaddoura, a hobbyist photographer from Abu Dhabi City, capital city of the United Arab Emirates. The collection he shares is aptly titled Dubai This Morning, and is a testimony to the beauty of Dubai in the early A.M. hours.

I'd like to thank Ms. Geist and Mr. Kaddoura for their contribution to this premiere edition of Poetry Of The Visual! Please do enjoy these impressive pieces of art they have shared for our enjoyment.

Nora Geist --- "Saintly Cadavers"

Nora Geist is a 24 year old Medical School student of London, England. Ms. Geist has an MA in Chemistry and is presently engaged to be married.

About her stunning collection: "The inspiration for Saintly Cadavers was Georges Bataille's "Story of the Eye", namely the section [that deals with] the priest having sex in the church with Simone... At the end of the sequence, the priest is killed, and his eye is cut out and placed in Simone's vagina, transforming from an organ desiring sexual objects to the sexual object itself."

Georges Bataille - often referred to as the "metaphysician of evil" - scribed his classic of erotic literature in 1928 under the pseudonym Lord Auch.

Please do enjoy Ms. Geist's collection of erotic poetry transformed into beautiful and stunning works of visual art. You may also view other works by Ms. Geist at her gallery on the web.

...a face in moonlit shadow (a voice beckoning)
rain drizzing in the pallor of an invisible orb
stars lit and clouds rampant and a great man dead
(in the gourd vine of redemption)

Ahmed Kaddoura --- "Dubai This Morning"

Ahmed Kaddoura is a 21 year old college student, whom currently attends Abu Dhabi University in the capital city of the United Arab Emirates. "To be honest with you, I'm not a professional photographer. I think it was just good luck for me to take them," states a sincere Ahmed about the photos he shares with us at Jacquii's Poetry Spot. "I was staying in my brother's house for the weekend [and] didn't sleep well... When the sun start rising it seems to me like heaven so I just wanted to capture it to show to my family and friends..."

And thank goodness he did - The photos are simply amazing, absolutely gorgeous. But you judge for yourself... The pictures were taken at Shihk Zayed Road in Dubai at seven o'clock in the a.m.

...and I sighed alleluia glory and I shivered
and I teared upon hearing the proclamation,
the emancipation of that divine sound
from the very mound of Heaven.
