As I sit and write these words,
I pray somehow that you can see.
The love between each line and verse,
And perhaps how much you meant to me.

My heart does ache and I feel you are gone,
How could I have let the time go by?
I've lost a friend and I feel so alone,
Over and over I've asked myself why.

If I could look into your eyes,
I'd tell you the things I didn't say.
That I have always realized,
When I met you, I was blessed that day.

Thank you, friend, for showing you care,
I know someday I'll see your face.
When my time comes to join you there,
I hope to have your dignity and grace.
