Hinderliter Family Tree
* Last updated 22 January 2000 *

There are many family trees on the web displaying the various branches of the Hinderliter family, including a variety of alternate spellings of this surname.  And they all stem from the same distant ancestor - Johannes Hinterleitner.  Johannes was born in Hofreith, Upper Austria about 1612.  To our knowledge, this is the earliest known date in the Hinderliter line.  His grandson, Johann Caspar, came to America in 1738 and settled in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.  From there, the various branches of the family spread out across the country over the next two and a half centuries.

Since there are several web sites displaying the various branches of the tree, we decided to display only the descendants of Jacob Hinterleiter, Johannes Hinterleitner's great-great-great-great-grandson.  Only the direct ancestors of Jacob are displayed.
