Karl Müller and Gesina Tobin came to Pittsburgh, PA from Fulda, Germany (possibly in 1893 to marry). According to family lore, Gesina came from a poor family, and Karl came from a wealthy one. Karl's parents did not approve of him marrying a poor girl and would not allow the marriage. As a result, they left their families and homes behind and sailed to America to marry.
