Vic led his trio of KeBobs up to the drain, careful to keep the group deep within the darkest part of the shadows. Snake's group should just about be in position, he thought as he scanned the area ahead of him for signs of movement.
Behind Vic, Shakey and Walt began whispering. Vic ignored them and continued scanning of the area ahead, looking for any sign of the sneaky four-eyed Delaques.
Suddenly, Vic heard the throaty call of a heavy stubber: BlamBlamBlamBlam-- then silence.
Vic groaned. Damn! Snake's jammed the stubber. Now we have to do this the hard way....

Welcome to my paean to Games Workshops' game of gang combat in the Undercity: Necromunda!
What is Necromunda? Well, it's two things: a Games Workshop game that allows you to play out fights between rival gangs with miniatures on a tabletop, and also the world in which the game takes place. Deep within Necromunda is the Underhive, a toxic and dangerous place located beneath the surface of the great Hive City. Within the maze of nooks and crannies which make up the Underhive, gangs such as the Delaque, Goliaths, Orlocks, Escher, VanSaar, Cawdor and others fight to gain supremacy and to protect and enlarge their territories and profits....
Necromunda is especially appealing because 1) the game can be played with a minimum of figures (it looks like a gang of ten or fewer will suffice), 2) the game is campaign-oriented, and 3) there is great potential for some fabulous scratchbuilding of terrain!
If you want the official introduction to Necromunda, then check out The Games Workshop Necromunda Page. The publisher's site offers background and a general outline of the game.

Gary James' Necromunda Page. This is a GREAT page! It contains construction outlines for some really inspirational terrain for Necro. Nice tips on photos, too. See the link to TerraGenesis in the next set of links, too.
The Poison Dart Frog's GW Page. Yet another great page: interesting, attractive, and well-organized. The new rules for Necro found at this site make a great deal of sense, and don't add to the complexity of the game (which isn't that high anyway....)
Aaron Tunney's Blitzkrieg Page. A very good site. Contains a Necromunda section which features a map-based campaign system. Worth a look.
TerraGenesis. This is another magnificent page by Gary James. Some overlap with his Necromunda page (see the link above), but still very much worth a look. It contains construction outlines for Necro, 40K, and Epic. Maybe the rest of us should just give up....
The Armorcast/Terraform Page Armorcast is a manufacturer of 40K resin models. The models are cool, but the best products they produce is their line of Terraform terrain. Very nice walls, containers and other pieces that work well for Necro, all done in very high quality resin castings. I've got quite a bit of Terraform stuff. Highly recommended.
The Fire Zone. They sell buildings and terrain for 40K-scale games. The photos are a useful for construction ideas. Haven't bought anything from these guys--yet.
WarZone. Another terrain manufacturer. Their stuff looks good on the table, and the prices are reasonable.

The miniatures are all mine, and the photos are mine, too, taken with an Epson Photo PC camera. Not very good up close, but it gets the job done. Then again, a good fuzzy photo can really cover up a mediocre paint job....
