Owners: Maria & Harold Zucconi

Sire: Ch. Cariad's Artur of Dorratz
Dam: Ch. Gemini's Kaliente O' Sandyacre

Chosen as a prospective obedience competition dog, Chile stood out in a litter of nine puppies with his dynamic outgoing personality. We named him Chile because of his spicy color and "Bean" was added when he curled up on Harold's lap on the way home. Chile became a champion at one week over a year old earning several Best of Breeds over nationally ranked specials. Chile was trained and handled by his owner, Maria, to all of his titles.

The next challenge for Chile and Maria was obedience, where Chile obtained his Novice title with scores qualifying him for a Dog World Award and earned his Open title with scores qualifying him for Gaines Regional competition where he placed 15th in the Open Division. Chile earned his Utility title the same weekend he took a Group III in breed. Chile earned all of his titles with multiple wins and placements over all breeds and has national obedience rankings in Vizslas. Chile has multiple High in Trials and High Combined awards.

Maria handled Chile to his Senior Hunter and Master Hunter titles. His intelligence and reliability are his greatest assets in the field. He hunts very smart and is always aware of the situation in the field. Chile is pointed and has multiple placements in Open and Amateur Gun Dog stakes at field trials. Chile is also our personal hunting dog.

Chile began his agility career in 1989 placing first in the gamblers large dog category in U.S.D.A.A. competition. Chile began his A.K.C. agility work at eight years of age placing nine times out of 10 while earning all three agility titles. In 1995, he was Number 1 in Novice agility and Number 2 in Open agility. In 1996 Chile was the number 1 in Open agility and number two in excellent, right behind his son Cooper. In 1997 Chile finished his M.X. title in Houston with a fine run.

Chile is known at the Vizsla National Specialties for his flamboyant entrances in Parade of Titleholders. Chile parades in carrying a red, stuffed chile pod then performs his repertoire of tricks and leaves the ring carrying a chile ristra (several chiles strung together).

Maria is amused when they remember Chile, while referring to her as the "chile lady." While Maria's hunting buddies (German shorthair people), tease her about her "red-bone," some of her Brittany buddies call Chile the "Alphabet Soup Dog," because of all of his titles.

Chile is a wonderful dog at home fetching the paper in the morning, picks up and stacks the food dishes after all the dogs are finished eating and finds missing objects that have been hidden by the other dogs. Chile also does volunteer work with handicapped children and in rest homes where he makes them chuckle with his repertoire of tricks which include shaking hands with members of his audience, playing dead, rolling over, barking loudly, woofing quietly, crawling, saying prayers, waving bye-bye and departing with a bow.

Chile's lifetime achievements have been honored by the Vizsla Club of America. Chile was inducted into the Vizsla Hall of Fame on October 20, 2001 at the Nationals Awards banquet. Chile was honored for his contribution to the Vizsla breed, not only with his own accomplishments, but those of his get as well. Truly an honor we cherish. Thank you to Sue Pittman for nominating Chile all to all who voted for him.
