WELCOME

Welcome to the homepages of Poquito Vizslas. Poquito is Spanish for "Little bit". For those of you who have met Maria Zucconi, the origin of the name will be obvious. For those of you who have not, let us just say it is a "short" story. Poquito Vizslas is the name we use to identify our Vizslas and to show our love for the breed. Maria Zucconi and Harold Zucconi of Las Cruces, New Mexico and Melissa Thomas of El Paso, Texas share in the breeding, training, showing and handling of these Vizslas.

The objective of our breeding program is to develop versatile Vizslas. By versatile we mean dogs that can compete in any venue open to the Vizsla including conformation, obedience, agility, tracking and hunting. We only breed occasionally, and we breed with our objectives in mind. As you visit our pages you will discover Vizslas that compete effectively in all areas. Our Vizslas have Conformation (Breed) Championships, Hunting titles, Obedience titles, Tracking titles, and Agility titles. Our dogs have been nationally ranked in several areas of competition. We do not breed Vizslas for birthday presents, Christmas presents, Valentines Day or other special occasions.

The purpose of these pages is to encourage people to engage in the sport of dogs, and Vizslas in particular. To that end, we have provided information on our Vizslas, and those of some of our friends. We have many sections including our diary of a litter and some humor associated with dogs and Vizslas in particular. We cover conformation, obedience, hunting, agility and other things of interest. We have also posted a page with the Rainbow Bridge poem in honor of the dogs we have loved and lost. If you have questions about the Vizsla, or about any area of competition, please feel free to contact us.

Navigation around our site is easy, just point and click on the area you would like to visit on the banner on the side of the page, or any of the hyperlinks on our pages. To return to this page simply click on the dog on the top left corner.
