Data Conversion File Requirements

To successfully accomplish a data conversion, the following files need to be delivered to Portfolio SolutionsTM:

  1. All Program Files (if Portfolio SolutionsTM does not currently own) and any set up or start up commands. (We currently license Axys and Centerpiece.)

2.      For Advent/Axys: send files with extensions
   .cli   .dex   .pri
   .prf   .inf   .pbf  fac
Centerpiece: send files with extensions
   .dat   .ddf
CAPTOOLS: send ALL files
DbCAMS: send backup of program    Roll-up positions prior to backing up

3.      If you require interface initialization, include any Interface directory that contains files, i.e. reconciliation, transaction security or price files. This is the download path that is defined in Centerpiece in the Interface Utility Transfer options to determine or locate paths. In Advent/Axys this is the path you translate your download files from. For SchwabLink files, check your SchwabLink configuration files to determine all paths that receive downloads.

4.      The new software will have a section on getting started which discusses the way you want to set up your securities and other information. Please provide this information either in written format or in some type of file. Securities can be broken down by different criteria in the software, i.e.; Axys uses Security Type Asset Class and Industry Group. This breakdown will effect the way you are able to calculate and compare performance information. Pre-planning on your part will save a great deal of work later on. If this is not provided our best efforts will be used.  Any changes after the fact may result in additional charges.

Acceptable formats for file delivery are as follows:
   Floppy Diskettes, Travan 4 tape, Zip Disks, CD_ROM, pcAnywhere

Note: If you do not want to have data for a particular client converted into the new system, purge the records prior to sending information to our offices. The expense of converting and balancing a file will be charged for each file that is processed.

Failing to call ahead to schedule any data conversion will result in the project being worked on as time is available. We recommend calling ahead to avoid conflicts with other jobs.
