The Portsmouth Symphony Orchestra ( which at the time was known as the SeacoastCommunity Chamber Orchestra) held its first rehearsal on October 6th, 1997. The membership consists of roughly forty musicians from the Seacoast area of Maine and New Hampshire, the majority of whom are not professional players. We are a 501 (C)(3) tax-exempt organization, with an executive board which organizes concerts, fund raising, and other events.

At a PSO concert, you can hear young people of all ages playing alongside professionals in many fields and retirees - all brought together by the love of making music.
