"Repentance"

A heaven sent

Meant with the intent

To cleanse us of our offenses…

For daily, we could sin…

By some thought or deed,

we would have within

For all come short of his glory

By sin…

Some would like to say, that once you

Have given your heart to our

Lord Jesus, that sin does leave us….

And though that is true....

What about the next day, you

Forget to pray, and ask the Lord

To Take your sins away?….

What if you forget?

And to the Lord, you do not submit

And with regret, you sin….

Maybe by a secret held within...

Do you think you can begin to think

That the old ways, do not stink….

And there you, are, on the brink

Of who you used to be.....

Sadly,

Without repentance, we cannot see

Are you Sinning, willfully?……

Repentance, daily

Can Keep a heart Free

Just like the old adage does say:

“An apple a day, keeps the doctor away”

Well that is what

a daily prayer of repentance can do

To keep a heart true

Each day, to find your way….

Repentance, in remembrance of

What Christ did

Can show us the way, we should live

For as Christ does forgive

Repentance, cleanses, giving preventive

Measures to take

For we must never forsake

Our Lords sacrifice

That truly gives us life….

That delivers us from strife….

Just a thought, I share with you….

Truly, it is up to each individual...

But what would God call us to do?

For Sin, can be a hindrance

From getting our prayers in abundance

And in observance, In this I want to partake,

For, I am learning from my mistakes

Now, I submit to my Fathers ways

To obey, to seek him, and pray,

To come before his throne humble,

Praying, asking daily for forgiveness,

so I do not stumble….

For great is his tolerance

And he is a God, who can give a

second chance.... 

But there comes a time

When we must grow.....

Just to know…

With the greatest of love,

that he does bestow...

Never to take a chance with our

Salvation….

With vigilance, daily repentance

Can cleanse us of secret sins

We have within….

To make a way, for each day to begin…..

Repentance.... who would have guessed?

Without it, we live with less…….

Without his holiness….

That’s not our best….
