These things appear to happen naturally. They don’t seem to be planned. These beautiful moments seem to come and go as they please. But I am here to tell you that you help to create them.
It is within your power to transform your life and maybe the world. How? There is a method to great family communication. There are proven principles and strategies, ways to teach, learn, and interact within a family that work more consistently than others. Interested?
The principles, strategies, and tactics of great communication that will be discussed in this column are drawn from the experiences of great communicators, and from research in the fields of linguistics, general semantics, neurobiology, neurolinguistic programming, psychology, and family therapy. However, you already know how to do all of these things.
This column is designed to remind you of the basic principles of great communication as well as some specific actions that you can take to become a better family communicator and to help your child to love learning, to happily join in family activities, and to become a confident skilled problem solver. Each month I’ll offer suggestions, proven techniques and specific plans to help you take action. Join me.
