Birth Counseling provides knowledge, support, therapy, and emotional care for the woman wanting to be a mother, the mother-to-be, and the new mother. Pregnancy is a time of joy and magic. The development and birth of a baby creates a new sense of being and a new stage of life for a woman. Becoming a mother envelopes a sense of creation, maturity, growth, love, and wonder, which should all be understood and celebrated.

Pre-Birth Bonding is a significant aspect of pregnancy . Pre-birth bonding helps the mother recognize and experience fully the connection between herself and her baby, while creating a comforting, loving, and positive atmosphere and aura for the child. The womb is a nurturing environment itself, but the emotions of the mother, both negative and positive, reflect directly on the baby's state of mind and being. Learning positive behaviors enhances pre-birth bonding and optimizes a mom's experience of pregnancy and birthing. Aspects of positive behaviors include: eating well, treating your physical body well, stress and anxiety reduction, and being emotionally secure and happy, while providing your child loving affirmations, warm thoughts, and daily communication. This encourages a trust and love into the unborn child and starts the special relationship that will last throughout the lives of both mother and child.

Pat applies several methods and techniques in her  Birth Counseling. Confidential one-on-one sessions are the most common. These sessions help to provide the mother with a safe, non-stressed environment where she can ask questions, talk freely, and gain advice and support. Pat uses  hypnotherapy/ autosuggestion for relaxation, anti-stress/anti-pain, self-esteem, and other various therapeutic techniques, as well as communication with the unborn baby.  A hypnotic state is a natural relaxed state of the human mind.  Hypnosis can be tremendously helpful to a counselor as a catalyst for reaching the subconscious. Discovering any hidden fears or reasons behind anxieties or problems plays an important role in lessening the physical and emotional turmoil that sometimes accompanies pregnancy in all of its stages.

Pat is especially qualified to work with:
