Proactive Systems Graphic Model Designer Deployed at Xcel Energy

Minneapolis, MN (Oct, 2004) - Proactive Systems Inc. (PSI) announced that IBM Global Services deployed its Graphic Model Designer as a component of the new Outage Management System (OMS) now in production at Xcel Energy. The PSI Graphic Model Designer, termed GISLite by the project team, provides the graphic and full topology model for the 1.5 million customers in Minnesota, Michigan, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. The new OMS relies upon the GISLite fully connected model to support the rigorous business practices in place at Xcel Energy.

In addition to the GISLite product, PSI was contracted to deliver test and certification services to the Xcel OMS project integrating many systems including the SPL Centricity OMS, the MDSI Advantex mobile solution, and Xcel’s customer information systems. Uniquely qualified PSI staff enabled the test and certification of the systems leading to the “Go Live” of the new OMS at Xcel Energy.
