Proactive Systems Provides Consulting Services for Kansas City Power & Light  

Spring Park, MN (January 29, 2004) – Proactive Systems, Inc. was selected by Kansas City Power & Light Company (KCP&L) in the fourth quarter of 2003 to provide Outage Management System (OMS) model implementation enhancement services. With the addition of Proactive Systems to the team, KCP&L has eliminated most of the data modeling issues and have provided enhancements to the Intergraph GFramme model interface and model environment of the Outage Management System and associated operations model. 

Proactive Systems’ services for KCP&L’s OMS project included:

§         Automatic device phase correction of GIS errors on model import

§         Automated the device phase correction report to send back to GIS

§         Automated unconnected device identification and created a report sent back to GIS.

§         Performance enhancements including multi-process dual CPU utilization

§         Removal of 16 million retired model build records

§         Fixed missing Network Control Group (NCG) issues

§         Symbology cleanup to match the needs of the operations staff

§         Added uniqueness to non-unique aliases such as street and UG Cable segments

§         Enhanced automatic elbow aliasing to include device name and cable ID

§         Solved numerous boundary node issues

§         Identified method to get city names on devices in operations with minimal change to the GIS

§         Identified a plan to easily get substations modeled to support SCADA interface needs.

§         Eliminated the dependent patch back-log

§         Incrementally rebuilt the entire operating model validating a recent GIS upgrade and pushed the resulting model into production.
