Xcel Energy Rolls Out the Proactive Systems Graphic Model Designer for Data Modeling, Conversion, and Interface Solution (“GIS Lite”).

Spring Park, MN (Sept, 2003)—Proactive Systems, Inc. an industry leader, providing data modeling and network management software for distribution utilities, announced today that its Graphics Model Designer (GDM) software is being “rolled out” by Xcel Energy for a data modeling and conversion deployment across its service territories.

As an integrated solution, the Proactive System’s - Graphic Model Designer provides Xcel Energy with tools to move from the existing mainframe Distribution Data System (DDS) to a lower cost of ownership PC-based solution. This technology enables Xcel Energy to graphically model and maintain the Distribution Database System (DDS) data and export it in a format for import to the CES International Outage Management System.
