Here are some ways in which volunteers can get involved with PC through Friends of Drama.
If you would like to volunteer and did not complete a new CORI form last year, please stop in the main office of the school to fill out a form. This procedure is required of all school volunteers. Thanks.
Program Ad Sales
One of the main sources of revenue for FOD is through advertising sales in the program book. We invite local businesses, small or large, to place an ad. Approximately 7,000 programs are printed each year and distributed at the fall play, the musical, and the spring play. Ad sales take place between July and early October. We have built a very solid base of local businesses who support us, but are always looking for more help with this very important fundraiser. If you would like to place an ad, help sell, or know of a business that might advertise, please contact Debby Adams.
Refreshment Sales
FOD manages the refreshment sales at all of the performances for each show. A few volunteers are needed to assist students with set up and managing tables at all performances throughout the year. Contact Becky Brooks.
Season Tickets
This person would assist the season ticket coordinator with season tickets that are sold each year individually and through FOD memberships. This involves tracking incoming orders, assigning season ticket numbers, and communicating information with season ticket holders. This job is generally busiest from August to November. Contact: Kathy Finnegan.
PC Banquet Coordinator
This person would work with Linda Potter and PC students to plan the PC banquet that will be held on May 29 at Wedgewood Pines Golf Club. Work includes decorations, choosing the menu, mailing list, invitations, processing checks and reservations, and overall planning. Contact Linda Potter.
Production Crew Support for Shows
PC is a student-run club and, as much as possible, students do the work on the back-stage production crews. The amount of adult help needed varies from show to show but is always welcome. Crews that often need adult help include: tickets, publicity, set construction, set painting, costumes, hair and makeup, food, and parties. After each show is cast, a meeting is held for volunteers to sign up and meet the crew chiefs. Email contacts for crew chiefs and producers are in the PC section of this website.
Field Trips / Special Events
Volunteers are needed from time to time to help plan and organize logistics for field trips such as the New York trip in April (permission slips, collect money, etc) and to help with organization of special events like Oktoberfest. Contact Linda Potter.
Food for PC Events
From time to time, snacks or party food are needed for PC meetings or parties. If you would like to help with this by coordinating other volunteers or by providing food, please contact Linda Potter.
Serving on the Board
Friends of Drama is run by a board of directors that meets approximately 6 times during the year. Currently there are seven positions on the board. Terms are for one year. If re-elected, a person may serve up to four consecutive terms (4 years) and then rotate off for at least one year. The board is elected at the final meeting in the spring and serves from July 1 - June 30.
