Charter
MEWS is a loosely organized group of 500 editors and writers of all kinds at every level in and around Montclair, NJ. We include much-published authors and fledgling poets, editors at major publishing houses and magazines along with students, journalists at every national and local news organization as well as television and radio producers, web impresarios, literary agents, publicists, and academics. Our motto is "Everyone's in" and our guiding value is professional community.
General Information
We're a mostly virtual group, with an email newsletter that lists jobs, groups, classes, readings, and events. Once a year, we host a big blow-out party for the entire membership, and sometimes also gather for professional seminars and smaller events aimed at special groups of MEWSies: a poets' brunch, say, or a magazine editors' cocktail party.
