An “electrostatic lifter” is a great science-fair project.  Shanni successfully built one in 3rd grade.  The lifter is shown flying (above) with a 30kV supply.

Carbon Fiber Rotor Blade Set by RC-PLAY INNOVATIONEN.  These blades make flying outdoors a pleasure.  They improve stability and greatly reduce vibration.  They don’t break when touching grass, and don’t need sanding every time that you nick them.  One warning though:  don’t fly indoors with these, and be very careful because they can slice through flesh!  Despite their cost, I highly recommend them.  A solid 5/5!

I added a few extras to my DF-V-Ti.  These are my unbiased* mini-reviews and ratings for these accessories:

DraganFlyer Bracing Kit by Draganfly Innovations.  This is the best $19 you can spend towards improving your DF!!!  The frame bracing allows better flight performance by almost eliminating motor mount flex and rotor arm oscillation.  It also lets you enjoy flying the DF since the bracing kit reduces downtime by reducing the need to align motor mounts.  A solid 5/5!

Thunder Power 3-cell (11.1V) 1320mAh Pro Lite battery.  I like flying my DF with this battery instead of the more powerful 4-cell pack.  If you are still flying with NiCd, then you are really missing a lot! 2-1/2 x 1-1/4 x 11/16", 2.99 oz .  Another worthwhile investment!

DF-V simulator.  Runs under the FREE FMS simulator [CLICK HERE to Download].

The DF-V model is also free [CLICK HERE to download model].

Thunder Power 4-cell (14.8) 1420mAh Pro Lite battery.  Too much power.  Motors overheat (I do use heatsinks), Motor EMI causes glitches in receiver.  It’s much better than flying with a NiCd pack, but I much prefer the 3-cell pack. 2-1/2 x 1-1/4 x 5/16", 3.89 oz.

The camera makes the DF-V the ultimate geek toy!  Without it is only the penultimate toy.  That said, I use the camera only for the WOW factor.  I don’t fly it with an onboard camera when I’m relaxing alone.

RC helicopters are a bit too difficult to control for the littlest ones in our house.  However, they have the right to have fun too, right?  Well, a MACH-3Z 3-channel RC blimp from Draganfly Innovations proved to be the solution.  Now everyone is happy!
