People's Republic Collectables has been on line for three years now. Thank you to those who have ordered from the list. A totally revised list with 201 new items was posted on Sept 18, 2007.

The name People's Republic Collectables comes from the nickname given to our home city, Cambridge MA. It has been dubbed the "People's Republic of Cambridge". To earn that appellation it has declared itself a sanctuary city. It has a left wing agenda driven City Council which regularly takes positions on foreign policy issues, and has a city agency, the Cambridge Peace Commission, which was created to address such issues.

The new postings include several rare Tamla/Motown/Gordy items from the mid 60s. They include Tony Martin and Billy Eckstine who had had hits in the past but were trying to revive their careers. There are also many disco hits and follow-up records by "One hit wonder" artists. We have acquired a large collection which featured significant depth of certain artists. Once this collector decided he liked a particular artist, he would ferret out almost anything by him/her/them. Over the coming months, we will add several hundred more items from this collection.

Our list consists of 7" records. All but a very few of them are 45rpm. Some EPs are included. There are over 2600 items. Just over 600 are records with picture sleeves, just over 100 are picture sleeves w/o records and the remaining 1900+ are in either plain or label sleeves.

PRC is not an auction site.This web site operates as an old-style set sale. Each item has a preset price. The only time limit for the availability of each item is its sale. The first party to get money to us secures the item purchased. If one person mails a check but another uses Paypal, the confirmation from Paypal will almost always arrive first. But most importantly, we don't have to wait for anything to clear when Paypal is used.

Avoiding Paypal may save you some money. Paypal provides convenience but it incurs fees which are reflected in the stated price. To get a price that avoids Paypal fees, please make your selections then transcribe them to an email to People's Republic Collectables (ps78rpm@comcast.net). We will then respond with a price and an address for sending a money order or check. However, this does introduce a time delay which means you run the risk of losing the item to someone else using Paypal. This is a first come, first served sale.

Overseas shipping charges must be applied when the shipping destination is outside of the USA. The Paypal cart automatically applies domestic shipping charges. Please use the calculator on the Shipping and Handling page if you need to add adjusted shipping charges to the Paypal cart or if you would just like to see what shipping charges would be.

Insurance for shipping can be added but you will need to contact us via e-mail at ps78rpm@comcast.net so we can give you the additional cost information (in US dollars).

The list is sorted by artists in alphabetical order by last name. Groups are simply listed alphabetically in their proper place. When the same artist is listed under more than one name, each name will show up in its appropriate place in alphabetical order. In case of duets, items are usually listed by the first name given in that duet. When a duet has a better-known artist paired with someone not so well known, the duet may be listed under the better known artist.
