NEW YEAR - NEWSLETTER FROM ANITA

TO ALL AMERICAN SCHWABS RELATIVES

WHO VISTITED GERMANY LAST SUMMER!

My dears, January 1998

Half a year passed now since you were here at Astheim, Volkach, Franconia and Germany. We still remember the nice days we had together. For my family and all the german Schwabs too this was a great event in 1997. Time goes by so fast and everydays live leaves us too less time to write earlier. That Newsletter should be a sign of life and an information for you. After your departure last July, summer came back. We had nice weather in August and September so that our franconian wine this year will be of yery good quality. We are still waiting for the winter. Only rain and storm came to our landscape till today. But we hope, snow will come to us (similar to other years) in the end of January.

Here is some news of our family:

- In the meantime Manuel is a school-boy and he likes it very well. Now he tries to read anything which is written and also writing anything heard, with sometimes funny results.

- Valentin got over very well the correction of his cardiac defect. Now his heart and his health are in top form. Since some days he tries to crawl - and in general - he is a very kind and charming boy.

- The other Astheim and German Schwabs are well. They give your their best request! (I 'm sure, some of them did write you for Christmas and NewYears eve.)

- Tammy, our bus driver told me to give you all her best wishes for the New Year! Last September, she changed the company and now, she enjoyes regulated times for working and relaxing. And of course, if the next group of American Schwabs will need a bus driver in Germany she would like to do that job !!!

Very special thanks from me, Anita, to you all for your grateful "thank you". We will invest it to complete our stuff at home! Many thanks too for all your parcels, letters and post-cards which reached us till today, we appreciate all of them very much and like to remember the days we had together. That's it for today - love and all the best - especially health - for you and your families in 1998
