Sunset Valley Elementary School is located on Roberts Street about one mile from our church. The school is only about a year old. The tour was led by the school principal, Mr. Lynn and was limited to the gymnasium and cafeteria areas.
| The tour started in the cafeteria area. This was set up with bench style tables. The floor is linoleum and a large stage is at the front of this area. | ![]() |

The tables are interesting. They can be folded and used as benches. Also, they can be moved together and stacked. |
| The gym is full size with bleachers along one side. The ceiling is 30 feet high. The basketball goals are connected to the ceiling and can be lifted out of the way. The gym is air conditioned as is the whole building. | ![]() |
| The gym has hardwood floors. | ![]() |

There are ceiling high partitions along one side. These can be recessed quickly. |
| The roof above the gym contains perforated panels that are effective for room acoustics. However, there are plans to install sound pads on the walls to further improve the acoustics. | ![]() |
| The bleachers along one side are four high and can seat about 200 people. | ![]() |

There is a large storeroom adjacent to the gym. |
| The facility was opened in 2002. The details of the contractor and architect appeared on a plaque in the lobby. | ![]() |
The visit was beneficial and provided
ideas for our family rec center. The group appreciated the fine tour provided
by Mr. Lynn.
