Yet another enemy has surfaced and he's freed all of the greatest criminals from their jail cells to help him. This time, Bomberman will have to fight through a whole new world with deadly new stages, enemies, and bosses, each with their own unique ability, as well as the worlds of the previous Bomberman games (1,2,3,4), making this the hardest, not to mention longest, single player mode of all the Bomberman games.

However, Bomberman also has new powerups at his disposal. The new Homing Bombs and Mines will sure help him on his quest. The Kangaroos are back from Bomberman 3, as well as the Punch-Glove, after being left out of Bomberman 3, and everyone's favorite, the Detonator.

Bomberman 5 returns the series to the familiar set of features of Bomberman 1,2, and 3. Some innovative features of Bomberman 4, like pushing, D and S-Bombs, picking up other people, the variety of pets, and the unique weapons of each character in Battle mode, were taken out for Bomberman 5, making it feel like more of a sequel to Bomberman 3.
