 Trailhead a 010204.jpg (89926 bytes)

Trailhead for Tahuya Loop. Planning to leave a 1 - 2 acre half-moon shape area aorund trailhead as is to allow for a natural appearance from Elfendahl Pass road. The edge of 1/2 moon would be about WP 115. Trail would go to top of ridge and turn right at approximately WP 122.

WP 131 010204.jpg (95785 bytes)

WP 131. This is where we proposed to turn left down to lower valley outside of boundary for new (Wagonwheel??)cut. We propose to leave the valley entirely, enabling the loss of this unmanageable area. We gain some trail by going along the edge of the timber sale and staying out of the valley.

WP 136 010204.jpg (72343 bytes)

WP 136. Yellowjacket hill may be lost, but is a worthy sacrifice. There will be other hills to climb and more challenges ahead. We will also be losing the sibgle rock pile area at WP 138. It, too, should be easily moved and re-placed somewher else either as a rockpile or a different obstacle.

WP 141 010204.jpg (68437 bytes)

WP 141. This is where trail 84N goes left off of Tahuya Lookout Road. I don’t know the significance of this area. Ask Jeff.

WP 148 010204.jpg (89542 bytes)

WP 148. This is the intersection of the 84N and 84S trails.

WP 157a 010204.jpg (86811 bytes)

WP 157. This is where trail 84N goes up out of the valley, picture taken in the SSW direction. DNR proposed to leave a donut shaped area around this and the next picture areas to allow for a "green belt" type thing. This is to help discourage people from going into the clear-cut valley and making many trails up the open hillsides. We all hope it works.

WP 157b 010204.jpg (74374 bytes)

WP 157. This is where trail 84N comes down into the valley, picture taken in the NE direction.
