EQ6 – Electric Quilt Classes

Electric Quilt – Fundamentals Class for Designing Quilts with the Touch of a Mouse

            A laptop is provided to each student with pre-installed EQ6 for use in class.

Electric Quilt 6 is a fantastic, friendly computer program that takes all the work out of planning a quilt and puts all the fun back in.  EQ6 tools can be used to create anything from the simplest of horizontal layouts to the most complex custom layout.

This class will get you started using EQ6. You will learn how to use the EQ6 block, fabric and layout Libraries and set the blocks into many quilt designs.   We will review the nifty EQ tools and show how easy it is to calculate fabric yardage, print foundation patterns, templates, and Rotary Cutting Charts.

This class is intended for beginners and experienced EQ6 users alike. Those who have EQ6 loaded onto their laptop may bring it to the class along with a mouse.  No prior experience with EQ6 is required, but you must know the basics of using a computer and its mouse.

Block Design Class with Electric Quilt

            A laptop is provided to each student with pre-installed EQ6 for use in class.

This is part II of the Fundamentals Class. 

Learn how easy it is to design your own blocks with EQ6. This class will explore the EQ6 pieced & appliqué block drawing tools. Collect many practical tips and tricks for drawing in EasyDraw® & PatchDraw®.

Class covers:

         Quick Review of EQ layout, tools

         Using Blocks from the “Block Library”

         Modifying blocks from the “Block Library”

         Designing new blocks using: EasyDraw® and PatchDraw®

         Creating quilts from your blocks


Instructor:  Noreen Raphel is an award winning quilter in Colorado.  Her “Exploding Woolly Nova”, was designed in EQ6 and exhibited at the International Quilt Festival in Houston, Texas.
