Funeral was held at George's chapel ans St. Ann's Cathedral with Rev. Father Molyneux officiating.
Minesota mine- 1887 and 1893. Listed as southeast of Rockland. Not a town. Was best producer of copper from 1854 to 1865. Closed 18870. Platted as Rosendale. Post office opened may 7, 1857, and renamed National on March 16, 1861. Consolidated into the village of Rockland on Dec. 7, 1863 and renamed Rockland. Rockland- the Rockland mine opened in 1847, and the Rockland post office opened on Jan 6, 1853, with James B.Townsend as its first postmasrter, the office was closed on Sept. 20,1860, but on 12/7/1863, the National post officewas changed to Rockland, Rosedale was laid out by the Minesote Mining company in 1858, and Williamsburg was platted by William Shepard, and William Davey and named for themselves, also in 1858, James Cooper Platted Webster, these three adjacent plats were consolidated inti the village of Rockland in 1864.
