| Hello from Cheboygan, Michigan
This morning (Tuesday June 25) we made the trip across Northern Lake Huron. As we came through the Round Island Passage at Mackinaw Island the Chicago to Mackinaw race fleet greeted us. It was quite a sight to look down the Straits and see 50 or more spinnakers coming under the bridge. The larger boats had finished late last night. We are in a slip at the Cheboygan County Marina. This is a new facility that is located right on the lake. The Coast Guard Cutter Mackinaw is tied up just across the channel from us. We had heard of the Mackinaw but had never seen it. She is quite a vessel. The weather forecast for tomorrow isn't too great so we may be here another day. R&R |
