Think of it as a virtual board where the DM and players can move virtual miniatures around for battles or any other situation that requires visual placement of the characters / NPCs.
It would be used just like the battle map in Role Playing Master, but would be online, so that players could move their character into position themselves (with DM veto of course), and have a better feel for the situation.
Current & Planned Features
• There will be two applications: one for the DM, and one for the players.
The player application connects to the DM application. The player can move just
their own character, while the DM has full control over the map.
•Whisper: Players can whisper to other players, or just to the DM.
• HP tracker: Players will enter their HP so the DM can keep track of it. The DM can also update on how injured a creature / NPC is (barely injured, near death etc.) without showing the actual HP.
• All of the virtual miniatures can be customized with either a single colored tile with the player's/npc's/monster's initials, or a jpg/bmp file that is sent to the other players to represent the miniature.
• The battle area can be as large as 200x200 tiles (1000x1000 feet).
• Create maps on the fly that are updated to the players' screen automatically.
• Save maps, and then load them for later use. When the DM loads a map, it is sent to and displayed on a player’s screen automatically.
• Initiative Tracker: This will be a list all players can see. It will have the initiative order. When battle begins the players enter in their initiative, and the turn order is automatically listed. If someone changes their initiative, the turn order is reflected.
