the No Right to Win companion CD:

A
companion CD for No Right to Win is available to everyone who purchases
the book from any source. There is no
cost beyond a small fee to cover the expense of making and mailing the disc.
The No Right to Win companion CD contains an
extensive collection of photographs, many in color and high resolution. The photos are in two folders, one showing
nearly all of the Midway vets and others who contributed content for the book,
and the other with a large assortment of BOM-related ship and aircraft photos and
diagrams, scenes from the battle, and certain special graphics. Some of the photos will be familiar from our
web site or from other sources, but many are new to the Battle of Midway
Roundtable. Some of those that have
been seen before will be in better resolution and color on the CD.
An “Update” folder on the CD provides additional text to
supplement a couple of the book’s chapters.
Dialogue about the battle did not cease on the Roundtable with the
book’s publication, resulting in important new information that definitely
would have made it into the book had it been known at the time.
The CD also contains all of the Roundtable’s past message
archives back to 1999, plus all issues of the association’s newsletter, The
Roundtable Forum, up to the time that the disc was produced. Additionally, you’ll find CINCPAC’s entire
operations plan for defending Midway, the complete muster list of USS Yorktown
survivors returned to Pearl Harbor aboard the USS Fulton, Battle of
Midway after-action reports, veterans stories of the battle, slide shows of
Pearl Harbor and Doolittle Raid photos, and Rear Admiral William Leonard’s
detailed report on flying the first Japanese Zero captured in the Aleutians
(with pictures).
This CD requires a personal computer equipped with certain software for opening and viewing the files. Most modern computers will already have everything necessary in order to open every file on the disc, such as the Adobe Acrobat Reader and a good image viewer. If you should lack any of the needed programs, a text file on the CD gives URLs for downloading free versions of all necessary software.
