SAN FRANCISCO

 

June 2nd:  33 BOM veterans were on hand for a formal “dining out” with CNO Admiral Mike Mullen.

Mac was an intel analyst at HYPO before and during the BOM.

John was an electrician’s mate on the Enterprise at the BOM.

General Anderson was a captain in the Marine detachment on the Yorktown.  In this photo, CDR Lisa Avila, CO of N&MCRC Alameda is at Earl’s right; ADM Mullen is at Jane’s left.

 

Yorktown vets  Burrell Davis and BOMRT member Otis Kight

Burrell was a Seaman with VT-5, Otis was a Seaman with VF-42.

MIDWAY ATOLL

 

June 4th:  Hundreds of guests arrived on Midway, by airliner or cruise ship, to commemorate the 65th anniversary of the BOM on Midway itself.

WASHINGTON, DC

 

Washington, DC, June 4th:  Nine BOM vets were on hand for the annual Battle of Midway observance at the Naval Memorial in Washington.  For a description of the event with a good photo, click here.
