In late 1996, Jeffrey Steinwedel, a 48 year-old Cupertino resident and computer engineer, was run over and killed by a gravel truck while riding his bicycle 200 yards from the proposed entrance to Canyon Heights Academy.  His wife, Adrian, wrote a letter of concern about the safety of the school that was read into the record of the Cupertino City Council meeting.  Click here for the letter.
