On behalf of Jim Harris and Phil Bock, we wish to welcome you to the new Normal Warfare Publications website. This site was created for the purpose of promoting Historical Miniature Wargaming and an interest in the historical study of several aspects of war in general and the individuals who fought them.
Since both of us graduated from Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois we felt what better title for our enterprise than Normal Warfare. Hence the name.
The motto: Esse Quam Videri means "To be, rather than to appear". We hope that this is what our site and the products we offer will convey to you.
Our first foray into the field is the creation of a rule set entitled "Wilderness Wars". This rule set is designed for miniature warfare gaming in the 18th Century and the very early part of the 19th. We have worked on creating these rules over the past few years and have been play-testing them with a group affectionately called the "Acme Gamers".
In the spring of 2001, W-W was debuted at Little Wars, the premier Mid-West convention sponsored by HMGS Midwest, in Lincolnshire, Illinois and won Best of Theme.
We are now in the process of branching out into other fields of historical publications designed not only for the historical gamer but for anyone interested in history.
