February 26, 2012. The 2012 OOTL Annual Meeting and Rookie Draft. First order of business was to recognize last year's champion Asian Tsunamis. Manager Craig coasts into the playoffs as the #1 seed and vanquishes the competition before him. Each series stretches to seven games before the Tsunamis finally upend the Monsoons to take home our Carl Williard Memorial traveling trophy and an OOTL championship plaque.

The elected OOTL 2012 executive board: Commissioner - Manager Ed, Vice-President - Manager Brandon, Secretary/Treasurer - Manager Bob Boyd; Alternate #1 - Manager Bob Silks and Alternate #2 Manager Kevin.

Batter and Pitcher of the Year Results

Miguel Cabrera of the World Series Champion Asian Tsunamis takes home the 2011 Batter of the Year hardware. Cabrera hit .313 with an amazing 42 doubles and 13 HRs among his 101 hits.

Albert Pujols, who has been with the Speakers since his 14 AAA ABs, finishes as runner-up after winning 2010 Batter of the Year honors. Albert eclipsed his 2010 HR by two with 23 and posted one fewer double with 32.

Matt Holliday of the Monsoons places third after a clutch season. Hitting .274, Holliday knocked in 72 runs on the strength of 31 doubles and 18 HRs.

To spite just a 10-8 record, the Speakers Felix Hernandez surprisingly wins 2011 Pitcher of the Year. King Felix allowed just 98 hits in 159 IP, striking out 132. His minuscule 2.43 ERA and three shutouts may have clinched the top spot.

CC Sabathia has been anchor of The Plague rotation for some time. CC's 10-5 season for a non-playoff team rates third in the Pitcher of the Year running. Over 151 IP, Sabathia K's 119 with a pair of shutouts.

Rule Clarifications

Pitchers cannot bat; batters cannot hit.

In a 3-game series, the 4th starter must have a relief appearance remaining to be used in relief.

Following a brief intermission, the anticipation for new roster additions turned to reality. Manager Brandon, after dealing David Wright during the off-season, acquired Brett Lawrie to anchor the hot corner for the Eliminators.
