This page is updated from recent data collected by our "DAVIS VANTAGE PRO2 PLUS" weather station. The weather station is placed on top of our roof with anemometer 12 feet above the roof's peak & 36 feet above ground. Data is sent from our Davis weather station at regular rates (ie: every 2 1/2 seconds for wind readings; 10 seconds for rainfall & temperature data; 60 seconds for humidity, solar, ultraviolet updates & for barometric preasure levels). This information is transfered wireless from the "ISS" (Integrated Sensor Suite) plus from 2 other remote temperature sensor stations through a wireless repeater (signal booster) to the main display console. It is then forwarded to "Weather-Display" weather monitoring software program through USB Data Logger (which backs up data should there be a software/computer glitch)... Data is then compiled in Weather-Display software & uploaded every 5 minutes through a Comcast high speed internet connection to this web site. This page will automatically reload @ every 10 minutes or Use the Reload or Refresh facility on your browser to retrieve latest data.

THIS IS A WEB CAM LOOK AT THE LAST 5 MINUTES OF WEATHER FROM RAHK-N-ROL's SANDY POINT SHORES PLACE

Web camera is a wireless "Swann Nighthawk" with ''infrared night vision.' Camera is mounted on a "pan & tilt" device which allows a 180 degree sweeping view. It is placed at the northwest corner of our house and pointed in a westerly direction towards the Straight of Georgia. With the pan & tilt function view varies from a southerly view (towards Orcas Island) to a north-north west view (towards Birch Bay). Weather station hardware visible sometimes in the camera's view is a fully functional "Integrated Sensor Suite" (ISS) for a Davis Vantage Pro2 Weather Station. This is available for backup if any future sensor failures should occur. Weather station hardware on the right side of the Davis Hardware is our (now) retired 'Oregon-Scientific WMR968' station which is also still fully functional...

WEATHER UNDERGROUND RAPID FIRE REAL TIME WEATHER DATA!!!

This information is up to date REAL TIME DATA being transmitted every few seconds from our sensors to this web site!!! As each item updates it will turn 'green' while doing this. The wind speed readings are a '1 minute rolling average' with the "gust" function pertaining to the highest 1 minute average wind speed from the last five minutes

"SCREEN-SHOT" Status report of weather station: All systems functional....

Operation is Nominal, Uploads Every 5 Minutes. Below are Sensor Readings Gathered During the Previous 5 Minutes & Tabulated Via Charts, Graphs & Dials on Screen Shot Below

***GENERAL NOTES ABOUT THIS WEB SITE***
Data is provided by Rahk N Rol's Sandy Point Shores Weather to benefit those who rely on accurate/consistent weather information or are merely curious. Rahk N Rol's Sandy Point Shores Weather is located at the Southern end of the Straight of Georgia, North of the San Juan Islands just west of Bellingham & Ferndale Washington U.S.A. serving San Juan & Whatcom Counties plus adjacent Canadian territories. Readings are collected with a "DAVIS VANTAGE PRO2 PLUS" wireless weather center (with the main ISS & two other remote tempurature sensors) & is displayed via "Weather-Display" weather monitoring software on a "Sony VAIO" laptop computer through a "Comcast" high speed Internet connection at 5 minute intervals. Much thought & effort has been put into installing hardware, setting up software & building web sites, to assure reliable information. Glitches do happen occasionally & we continuously endeavor to remedy these ASAP. Please don't hesitate to E-mail us with any comments/questions pertaining to this web site. Don't forget the links to other web sites including more Rahk N Rol sites below.
