Whew....ale over, following are a couple of links to pages in honour of all those who helped us put on this ale and memories and special photos of the ale: Memories (photos being added as time permits) The Bacchan'ale is the Portland Morris communitys invitation only mini-ale for 2003. This year it is hosted by Portland's Bridgetown Morris Men and Renegade Rose Morris teams. Members of Portland's Iron Mountain Sword and Wildrose Garland teams will also be attending as will dancers from California and Washington states. It will be held at the 4H Camp in wine-country near Salem, Oregon, a 45 minute drive south of Portland, in the beautiful rolling Eola Hills. In addition to state-parks and historic-towns, we will dance at several wineries on our tours on Saturday and Sunday. The camp includes 325 acres of mixed forests, meadows, and ponds. We have rented Cascara Lodge for accommodations, plus we will have tents available near the Lodge for those who prefer camping arrangements. July 25th Arrival and registration: Write to us ASAP so we know when you will be arriving in Portland. We will be providing transportation for everyone arriving by 5PM Friday, from the Rock Bottom Brewery in downtown Portland to the 4H camp in Salem. See the arrival instructions for more details on registration, and for those arriving later on Friday and directions for those driving themselves. At the 4H Camp Friday night: Food & drink at the Grange Hall near the camp. Music and singing etc. |
July 26th 8:30-10:00 Breakfast at the Grange Hall near the 4H camp. 10:30-11:30 Coffee-slam and dancing at Salem's Saturday Market. 12:30-3:00 Lunch and dance at Silver Falls State Parks 4:00-6:00 Wine-tasting and dancing at Stangeland Winery 6:00-8:00 Dinner and drink at the Grange Hall 8:00- ? Return to 4-H camp for drink, dancing at the lake then up to the fire-pit and picnic shelter more singing and dancing |

July 27th 8:30-9:00 Leave camp 9:30-12:00 Sunday brunch at Eola Hills winery. Food and two glasses of wine or champagne included, music and dance on the lawn 12:30 Depart Eola Hills and head north. Ferry out of town guests departing Portland, back to MacTarnahan's Brewing 3:30-4:00 Arrive at MacTarnahan's Brewing, part of the Portland Brewing Company, drink, eat, dance and sing until our last guest leaves.  |
