The Lias' 1956 Mercedes 190SL (Sadie)

2007 Pictures

(Earlier Pictures - 2005 - 2006)

2007

Duing most of 2007, Sadie remained in the body shop. She was returned to me on the 20th of May with new floor pans as well as new trunk sections. Additionally, Harvey repaired both front sills and the hole in the sheet metal near the left, rear support arm. I have had some success with Ebay getting some needed items and have made a couple of orders from both Duval Motors and SL Autohaus for some of the critical pieces and parts. All the sheet metal was sourced by K&K Manufacturing and purchased from Sam at EuroCars. Finally, taking advantage of a rare sale at Rhode Island Wiring, I have purchased the main wiring harness, the tail harness and both battery cables. Since receiving Sadie back from Harvey, I have not had much time to devote to her. With Kevin's High School graduation, his graduation party, a trip to San Diago and multiple weekends spent at the University of Virginia watching Kevin march with the UVA marching band, Sadie has been a lower priority for me. I did spend some time working on various small jobs throught the year. Hopefully, 2008 will be a year that I can find more time to dedicate to the restoration project... Wish me luck...

Although the fronts look identical, the mechanicals on the rear is something else. May make it work with a lot of effort; however, I was able to get another from someone else.
