Our Field Care section gives you some tips on preserving you trophies before you bring them into Ames Taxidermy.
A quality and beautiful mount starts in the field. |
Always treat your trophy with the utmost respect. |
If possible keep your trophies cool and dry at all times. |
Do not remove entrails from small game, birds, or fish. |
Place all small game and fish in plastic bags. Bring in immediately for best results or freeze until your next visit to our shop. |
To skin game heads, skin to base of head. Sever neck and bring the whole head and hide to the shop. Please be sure to leave extra hide attached to the back of shoulders. Make sure never to cut past the brisket bone. Please do not cut the throat. |
We do not charge any extra to skin your mount for you. So, please take advantage of our service, and we will skin your trophy while you wait. |
