 Clear CMOS Switch How-To

After having to clear my CMOS 400 times in one night due to in valid settings while overclocking, I asked around and someone told me to install a switch.  So after asking questions like, what kind of switch do I need, and how do I connect it to the CMOS pins, I've decided to write this to help out anyone that would like to NOT have to take there case apart when they screw up.

Supplies
1. SPDT Toggle Switch.
( I used the really big picture so you can see the THREE prongs at the bottom )

1. Soldering Iron ( Optional, but the best )
1.
4 Pin 24". Black to Black Audio Cable for CD-ROM, CDRW and DVD ( Fit's the CMOS Pin's the best, but the wires are SMALL! )

1.  Set of wire strippers
1.  Razor Blade ( or anything that's extremely sharp )

Instructions

Take the Audio Cable and cut one end off and stripe some of the wires off.  Look at the other end, you'll see that the wire's in that connector have a space, as in they aren't all next to each other.  Take something thing and pointed and push the small exposed piece of metal and gently pull the wire out of the connector and place it next to one of the other ones.  Next take the connector and, using the razor blade, cut one of the slot's on the connector off, the one that you took the wire out of.  With a sharp razor blade this some be very simple, just apply pressure and push down.  After that is done, your soldering iron should be hot enough to metal the solder, if you are using the soldering iron then I don't have to tell you how to connect the wires to the switch with solder.  Make sure that the MIDDLE wire on the connector goes to the middle post on the switch.  That's the only thing you have to worry about in this project, if you solder/connect the wires in the wrong order then it will never work.  After that just make some kind of small hole in your case to mount the switch, I used a knife and put a hole in my 3 1/2" floppy cover and put the witch next to my on/off toggle switch for my 120mm fan.  That's it! It's so simple it's great, and you LOVE the fact that you won't have to remove the side of your case anymore to clear the CMOS!
