Welcome to the Suiattle River

The Suiattle River is a major tributary to the Sauk River. It is located in a designated Wild and Scenic Area in the Glacier Peak wilderness and is a beautiful camping location. There is fishing on the river or on the numerous creeks that feed into it. The Sauk and Skagit Rivers are twenty to thirty minutes away for more fishing possibilities. Additionally, there are numerous hikes in the area and roads for moutain biking.

Directions to The Suiattle River

  1. Take I-5 north past Marysville.
  2. Take the exit to Highway 530 which leads to Arlington and Darrington.
  3. Take Highway 530 to Darrington.
  4. In Darrington, the road will come to a T. Take a left and continue on Highway 530.
  5. Head north on Highway 530 along the Sauk River.
  6. After approximately 5-6 miles, there will be a right hand turn off Highway 530. Take this road.
  7. Continue up the road for approximately 20 miles to Downey Creek.
  8. Just before the bridge that crosses Downey Creek will be a small road on the right that leads down to the campground.
