Jumbo River Falls #3
Directions:
From Kenton on M-28 turn south on FH-16 and travel until there is a sign for the Iron county line. From there go another .4 miles to a two-track
on the right (actually there are two two-tracks about 100 ft apart, both lead to the same place so you can't go wrong), follow this two-track about 0.3 miles to a clearing and look for a large slate rock on the right
. The trail to the falls is on the other side (left) of the two-track next
to the slate rock (there might be a hand painted sign) and there is only a short walk to the first falls, then head upstream to the next two.
Notes: In his book Penrose only mentions the first fall and calls it Duppy Falls, this fall and the next one are only 100 yds apart upstream from that one. I'm almost embarassed to show the picture of this falls but
it's all I got, let this be proof to everyuone to bracket your exposures.....hey, at least the water is exposed correctly, there just wasn't enough exposure lattitude to properly recored the whole scene,
another reason to shoot during evening or morning light. Looks like I'm gonna have to go back there just to get rid of this horrendous picture.
