10-15 minute hike to falls

Location:

7 miles SE of Skanee

   Directions: From US-41 take Broad St into L'Anse and turn right onto Main St. This road turns into Skanee Rd and follow it east for 7 miles until you cross the Slate River (marked by a road sign!). Turn right and park. There is no good trail back to the falls, you just have to follow the river the best you can.

Notes: We had to ford the river twice in order to avoid climbing up the steep canyon. My wife didn't want to get her feet wet so I had to give her a piggy back ride across the icy cold water, then she fell in anyways climbing up the bank (ha). Sorry, but I don't have a picture of that!
