20-25 min

Location:

10 Miles N of Sidnaw

Directions: From Baraga go west on M-38 for about fifteen miles and turn south on Pricket Dam Road. Follow this road for about ten miles and turn right at the DNR sign and the road to Silver Mountain (if you miss the turn you will hit the dam). Follow this road until the fork for Silver Mountain then go left and then left again to cross the river, follow this road until you see the sign for the Sturgeon Falls Trailhead. Park on the left and the trail starts across the road.

Notes: There is about a 3/4 mile walk back to the falls, most of it flat until you get by the falls and then there is about a 400 ft steep decline to the falls. This falls is a surprisingly powerful falls and we spent a considerable amount a time just absorbing the scenic beauty of the falls and the surrounding area.
