Tannery Falls

Water Source:

Tannery Creek

County:

Alger

Height:

25 ft

Trail:

5 minutes

Location:

1.5 miles NE of Munising

Directions: At the intersection in Munising where M-28 makes a left turn go right onto H-58 for a little over a mile. Turn left at the road to sand point and park. The trail to the falls is directly across the intersection.

Notes: The trail is short and a little steep but the overhanging sandstone cliffs are pretty cool looking.

Here's a photo of Tannery Falls in the winter

I don't mean to gross anybody out but the last time I went to this fall there was a dead deer laying at the bottom of the falls. Near as I can figure he must of fell off the top of the falls, probably at night...either that or its an indication not to drink the water. If you want to see that (I don't know why, maybe out of some type of morbid curiosity (who am I to talk, I'm the one that posted it)) click here.
