Vernal Falls
Vernal Falls is located within the valley of Yosemite National Park. It has a vertical drop of about 317 feet. The picture was shot during the first week
of June during the peak of the snow runoff. In fact at some of the higher elevations in the park there were still snowbanks at the side of the road. The weather that day was beautiful with high's in the mid 80's which was nice since we took the Mist Trail to the top of the falls. The Mist Trail is one of the most popular hiking trails in the park and leads up the side of the Merced River to the top of the falls. It's not called the Mist Trail for nothing because while climbing the trail we got soaked so you should bring a poncho or raincoat if you don't want to get wet.The trail leads to the top of the falls where you can see people at in the photo. If you make it that far I highly recommend to keep going up the trail and see the Silver Apron ( its like a giant waterslide) and at least keep going to the base of Nevada Falls.
