Baring Falls

Water Source:

Baring Creek

Height:

30 ft

Area:

McDonald Lake

Trail:

.3 mile

Trailhead Location:

Sun Rift Gorge parking area

Directions: This hike is well marked as are most of the waterfall hikes in Glacier so watch for a sign for the 'Sun Rift Gorge' parking area at the west end of Saint Mary Lake.

Notes: Note the torquoise water in the picture of Baring Falls, this is caused by the glaciers scapping minute flakes of rock off as they move and they get into the water as the glaciers receed. By the year 2030 the glaciers are estimated to be gone so if you want to see the torquoise water you better get there by then!
