Glacier National Park

Welcome to my Glacier National Park vacation picture page. These pages contain just some of the sights that you can expect to see if you visit Glacier National Park.

One of the very first things that one must do upon arriving in Glacier(besides stopping at the visitor center) is drive the 'Going to the Sun Road' stopping at every vantage point possible and soak in the awesome scenery, then when you have driven the whole length of the park, turn around and drive back again the other way. It's 50 miles long and takes at least two hours one way depending on traffic, how many stops you take and road construction. I'd recommend traveling this road at least twice in each direction if possible (believe me, you won't get tired of the scenery), going from west to east was my favorite way but that's just my personal opinion, it probably doesn't really matter. Here are some of the sights you can expect to see while doing so:

This is one of the first stops coming from the St. Mary's visitor center, it's called Wild Goose Island view, there's a sign and is supposedly one of the most photographed spots in the park

you can see why!

There are many, many waterfalls cascading down mountainsides along the Going to the Sun Road and I don't even know if half them are named, this view is typical of what you can see (in July anyway):

Of course most of my waterfalls are listed on my Waterfall Page

Here's a picture of the sunset at Manny Glacier
