Lower Virginia Falls

Directions: From the St Mary's entrance follow the Going to the Sun Road to the west end of St Mary's Lake and take the St. Mary's Falls trail about .7 miles past St Mary's Falls to Virginia Falls

Notes: I had to wade into the river and get wet to get this picture, is there no end to the sacrifices I'll make to get the picture I want? So now I found out (after I got home of course) that this is not the real Virginia Falls which is further upstream and is over 150 ft high! If you watched the Flash Preview you already know what my reaction to that is......Aaaaarrrrggghhhh!!!! I guess I just have to call this False Virginia Falls and curse the ranger that told me to take this hike and didn't mention the 1st Falls you come to. It's probably my fault since I never followed the trail to the top of the falls, maybe there was a sign or something, heck, who knows, you might of been able to see the other falls from there.....somebody clue me in, will ya????
